Hair Restoration

Restore and Retain your hair.

Vampire Hair Restoration™ is a procedure that was first developed and trademarked by Dr. Charles Runels, MD, who personally trained our lead practitioner, Sarah Langford, APRN, CRNA. Skin Science Aesthetics is currently the only provider in Tallahassee approved and trained to provide Vampire Hair Restoration™.

Hair loss occurs in most men and 40% of women by the age of 40. The loss of hair can lead to a decrease in confidence and, in some cases, depression. Our goal is to help you recover the hair you’ve lost so you can regain your confidence and feel like your best self.

Similar to our Vampire Facial™, the Vampire Hair Restoration™ treatment utilizes your own cells, specifically your PRP (platelet-rich-plasma) and/or PRF (Platelet-rich Fibrin), which is rich in your personalized growth factors. During a hair restoration procedure, tiny needles are used to inject your PRP into dormant hair follicles, stimulating new hair growth.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma/Platelet-Rich Fibrin?

PRP has been used in medicine since the 1990s, and is often used to stimulate new tissue growth in sports medicine, such as tendon and ligament injuries. Numerous studies have shown the benefit of PRP for stimulating new hair growth and we are excited to offer this revolutionary treatment to the Tallahassee area.l

Platelets are the portion of our blood used for clotting, but they are also rich in over 20 growth factors, including numerous factors shown to stimulate hair regrowth. To obtain the Platelet-rich plasma, we draw a small amount of blood from the patient and spin it at precise settings in an FDA-approved centrifuge. This separates the platelets from the red blood cells and gives us the concentrated plasms for injection.l
